Avram’s Celebration of Life

Avram Armendariz, 38, died April 3, 2010, with his family and friends by his side in Northridge, California.

Avram was born January 20, 1972, in Los Angeles, California to Armida Vasquez and Robert Armendariz.  He is survivied by his mother Armida, brother Ruben, sister Rita, and daughter Jordyn.

He attended Cantwell and Schurr High Schools both of which are located in Montebello, California.  While attending Schurr High School, Avramentered the US Army Reserves serving as a Combat Engineer.  His military career spanned from May 1989 to June 1997.  During his tenure, Avram served in a multitude of organizations ranging from conventional Army Combat Engineering units to units under the US Army Special Operations Command.

While involved with the US Army Reserves, Avram began his second journey toward his new career at Pasadena City College.  He attended the Video Production Program and soon was an intern with Telemundo’s affiliate station KVEA-Channel 52 located in Glendale, California.  He completed his internship there and was kept as a freelance studio technician for a brief period.  He took on a position as a Satellite Truck Engineer with the start-up cable network, Fox News Channel.  He spent a little over two years traveling on the road with the Fox News Channel and a short stint with Brentwood Satellite as a freelance Satellite Truck Engineer.  That was enough moving for Avram and he took a Broadcast Engineering position with AT&Ts Digital Media Center in West Los Angeles, where under the tutelage of Steve Mankowski and Glenn McJennett, he honed his troubleshooting skills.  He furthered his broadcast engineering career with TV Games Network, Globecast North America and finally with Warner Brothers Television/GDMX.

Avram was a young, handsome, vibrant individual who lived life to its fullest.  He enjoyed being with his family and friends and would take the shirt off his back for any one of them.  Wherever he went, Avram made lifelong friends.  He found peace and cherished playing his drums with his friends to the very end.  There wasn’t anything Avram couldn’t achieve.  He valued the additional 5 months the Lord gave him to spend with his family allowing him to rest peacefully.  He will be missed greatly by his family and all who knew him.

TO MY SON AVRAM WITH LOVE

Before you were born, you were LOVED,
From the moment you were born you were LOVED,
You were LOVED as you were growing up,
You were so special to your brother and your sister,
Who LOVED you and always watched over you,
You were a happy baby and we loved to see you
Laughing and so happy as you were growing up,

As you grew, and it seems like it was just yesterday,
You became more independent with
Your own ideas of life and of LOVE, and with
Your own special way that you reached out to all of
Your loyal friends who became your extended family,
They also LOVE you my son,

You were smart, sensitive, creative and content
Striving towards your own extraordinary goals in life
And accomplishing what you set your mind out to do,
(like your Toga Party),

From the moment you were born, I thanked GOD for allowing
Me the privilege and pleasure of being your mother and hold
You in my arms, and I understood that you belonged to HIM and
That you were on loan to us while on this earth, and you tried your
Best to prepare all of us for your untimely departure, still our
Hearts are broken,
I will always remember your beautiful smile you had when you took
Your last breath, we could see your dimple and you looked content
And peaceful,

As your mother, burst with pride, I am so proud of everything
About you and proud of everything that you accomplished in
Your short life with us, I realized what an extraordinary and BRAVE
SON you became, you knew how to face your battle and you never
Questioned GOD’s plan and your were in total agreement with HIM,

Your LOVE for your brother, sister, mom and dad and your extended
Family was unconditional and absolute,

Now my son, as you continue on your
New journey, please know that I will
Always keep you in my heart and LOVE
You very much and we will be
Together again…sweet dreams my son.

Your Loving Mother
